A DAY AT THE CASTLE
With this tour you will have the possibility to visit the most unspoiled and genuine part of CHIANTI. You will be immersed in a setting of incredible beauty and harmony, where the history of the region has left its most visible traces and where you will have the possibility to experience the “ magic “ atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
We will start the day by picking you up right at your hotel either in Florence or in Siena and we will move on to what once used to be the headquarters of the Lega del Chianti – i.e. the quaint medieval town of Radda in Chianti. Here we will stop to admire the gorgeous view of the surrounding hills dotted with vineyards and olive groves and to enjoy some shopping in the many, beautiful shops that can be found there.
Once visited Radda we will move on toward the highlight of our tour; the visit to one of the most beautiful castles all over Chianti. Here you will have a guided tour of the castle first and then we will visit together the vineyards and the cellars, all this followed by a guided tasting of their renowned wines (Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva and a Super Tuscan) and of their delicious extra-virgin olive oil.
The tasting will be followed by a stop at the exclusive restaurant of the castle where you will have the possibility to enjoy a truly authentic and genuine Tuscan meal, prepared in the respect of the best gastronomic tradition of the region:
CUISINE: Our cuisine is essentially based on the typical dishes of the Chianti district. Our menu is, however, flexible and we try to meet the needs and the likes of our guests. The dishes we offer have a common feature: the strict rule to use only absolutely genuine produce and ingredients, such as our olive oil that makes our garlic bread unique; salami and cheeses are produced locally; among our game stands out our wild boar meat and the famous Panzanese from Dario Cecchini’s Old Butcher’s Shop. The season vegetables come from our own orchard and enable us to meet the demands and likes of our vegetarian guests.
After lunch we will part with our friends at the castle, to get back to your hotel driving slowly trough the gorgeous Tuscan countryside.
